Peer Supports and Outreach
Peer supports can be a vital piece of the recovery process. From helping a person make the decision to seek treatment, to supporting a person through recovery, a peer support who has lived experience and training can make a difference.
Cattaraugus County Peer Supports
CAReS Peer Recovery Support
Individuals who are receiving treatment services through CAReS (Council on Addiction Recovery Services) have the option of working with a peer recovery coach who can provide support throughout treatment and recovery.
Seneca Strong uses a peer outreach and recovery support model. Peer outreach is conducted by trained peers who serve as positive role models and help reduce overdose and death by heroin/opioid use. Recovery supports include a drop in recreation center, access to support groups and local 12 step groups. Recovery Support Services are available to enrolled members of the Seneca Nation. Outreach services are available to anyone.

Addict 2 Addict
*Services are only provided in Erie County, but if you are willing to meet them in Erie County, they can help even if you aren't an Erie County resident.
Addict 2 Addict is a team of peers, in addiction recovery themselves and who have family members with addiction, who share their recovery experience to individuals deciding whether they are ready to take the first steps towards recovery. Peers are able to provide information and referrals to inpatient and outpatient treatment options.
